2015 Schedule and Novena Prayers
2015 Schedule and Novena Prayers
The Fathers’ Novena is continuous prayer for fathers, specifically those within Our Lady of Guadalupe Homeschool Group. It is a prayer of intercession for all fathers and all the challenges they face (to be spiritual guides to their family, loving husbands to their wives, teachers of the Faith to their children, temporal providers for their households, faithful sons/brothers to their parents/siblings, father's seeking employment, husbands wishing to be fathers, men wishing to be husbands and then fathers, praying for grandfathers, grandfathers praying for their children/grandchildren, etc.
Anyone can volunteer for this spiritual work of mercy. Simply pray the Novena Prayer to St. Joseph every day for nine consecutive days during your scheduled time. To help keep the Novena going, an email will be sent out every nine days on the day before the novena begins. When the email comes, check the schedule to see if it is your turn. If it is your turn, begin the Novena the next day. If it is not your turn, simply delete the email. |

Novena Prayer to St. Joseph
|
Note: This powerful ancient prayer was found in the 50th year of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sometime during the 16th century, it was sent by the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. It is said that whoever shall read this prayer or take it with them, shall never die a sudden death or be drowned, nor shall poison take effect on them; neither shall they fall into the hands of the enemy, or shall be burned in any fire or shall be overpowered in battle.

O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, our Lord; so that having engaged here below your heavenly power I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers. O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms, I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of Departing Souls, pray for us. Amen. |
